How It Works

Scan

Over the first 5 breath cycles, the app steps through 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5 BPM. At each rate it measures HR oscillation amplitude — the peak-to-trough variation of your heart rate — which is the time-domain proxy for LF power without requiring FFT. The rate producing the highest amplitude is your personal resonance frequency.

Converge

The app steps smoothly toward your discovered resonance rate, max 0.25 BPM per cycle so your body can follow without disruption. Simultaneously it tracks phase coherence — whether your HR is rising during inhale and falling during exhale. If alignment is below 55%, the exhale is gently extended to pull your HR into phase.

Maintain

The engine holds your rate and fine-tunes ±0.1 BPM if coherence drifts. Two consecutive coherence locks (≥65% score) trigger the ascending CoreHaptics celebration pattern on your Watch. Session data — RMSSD, SDNN, lock count, resonant BPM — is logged to Apple HealthKit.
